Shortest woman - living (mobile)

Set By : Jyoti Amge

Nagpur, India    16 December 2016

The shortest woman living (mobile) is Jyoti Amge (India, born 16 Dec 1993), who measured 62.8 cm (24.7 in) in Nagpur, India, on 16 December 2016.

Jyoti Amge was measured at the Wockhardt Superspeciality Hospital in Nagpur India on her 18th birthday making her eligible to take over this record from Bridgette Jordan. Jyoti Amge had previously held the title for the shortest teenager (female) living.

Jyoti weighs just 12lbs (5.5kg) - only 9lbs more than she did at birth - and has a form of dwarfism call achondroplasia, which stopped her growing after her first birthday.

But the tiny lady isn’t letting her size hold her back from becoming a big name in the world of Bollywood.

The budding actress is set to star in two Bollywood films next year and said: “I want to be an actor. “I have put Nagpur on the world map. Now everyone will know where it is.

The title of shortest woman in history continues to be held by Pauline Musters, who lived in the Netherlands from 1876 to 1895 and stood 61 centimetres (24 inches) tall.
