A. R. Rahman (born 1967)
Allah Rakha Rahman, popularly known as A. R. Rahman, is an internationally acclaimed Indian music composer, singer, and music producer from Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Known as the “Mozart of Madras”, Rahman is celebrated for his ability to seamlessly blend Indian classical music with electronic music, world sounds, and orchestral arrangements, creating a fresh and timeless musical style.
He began his film music career with the Tamil film Roja (1992), directed by Mani Ratnam, which earned him national and international attention. Since then, Rahman has composed for hundreds of films across languages including Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, and English.
