Indian Book of Records (“we”, “our”, “us”) is dedicated to maintaining the highest level of accuracy, authenticity, and fairness in the assessment of all record submissions. These Record Verification Rules outline the required steps, procedures, and standards that govern how every record attempt is evaluated and certified.
These rules apply to individual, group, institutional, and organizational attempts.
The verification process ensures that:
1. The record attempt is genuine and accurately documented
2. Evidence is valid, complete, and conforms to our guidelines
3. The achievement meets or exceeds the benchmark for the category
4. All participants follow safety, ethical, and procedural standards
Our goal is to maintain credibility and fairness across every record evaluation.
To verify a record, you must submit complete, clear, and authentic evidence.
Incomplete documentation may result in rejection.
1. Full, continuous, unedited footage is mandatory
2. Recording must begin before the attempt starts and end after completion
3. Ensure clear visibility of participants, equipment, and surroundings
4. Any required timers, counters, or measuring devices must be visible throughout
• High-resolution photographs capturing:
1. Start of the attempt
2. The process
3. Final outcome
4. Equipment and measurement tools
5. Audience or witnesses (if applicable)
1. Official logs, timing sheets, tally counters, or measurement data
2. Screenshots or digital records if using electronic measuring devices
3. Proof of calibration for specialized equipment
1. Identity proof of participants
2. Permissions for venue usage, if applicable
3. Expert or witness statements (minimum two independent witnesses)
4. Any category-specific documentation
Witnesses and experts strengthen the credibility of a record attempt.
• Minimum two neutral witnesses must be present
• They must be unrelated to the participant(s)
• Witness statements must include:
1. Names and contact details
2. Occupation
3. A clear declaration of what they observed
4. Signature and date
In categories requiring technical evaluation (e.g., medical, engineering, scientific, sports), an expert’s confirmation is mandatory.
The expert must provide:
1. Professional qualification
2. Role during the attempt
3. Confirmation of accuracy
4. Signature and stamp (if applicable)
All equipment used in the attempt, timers, meters, scales, counters, sports gear, must be:
1. Calibrated
2. Standardized
3. Reliable
4. Suitable for the exact measurement being claimed
If custom or homemade equipment is used, detailed technical specifications must be included, along with an expert’s certification verifying its accuracy.
Attempts must be performed openly, clearly recorded, and free from hidden or restricted environments unless the category requires it.
Any form of video or photo editing, including cropping important sections, altering timestamps, or hiding angles, is not permitted.
All actions must be performed by the declared participant(s) only.
Substitution, duplication, or automation without prior approval is not allowed.
Each category has specific rules, such as:
1. Minimum criteria
2. Time limits
3. Safety guidelines
4. Measurement requirements
5. Allowed or prohibited techniques
Failing to follow these rules will result in disqualification.
Participants may request:
• On-site adjudicators
• Live digital monitoring (if supported)
Additional fees may apply. These services ensure instant verification but do not guarantee approval.
Indian Book of Records maintains a zero-tolerance policy for fraudulent activities.
1. Submitting edited or staged evidence
2. Providing false witness statements
3. Tampering with equipment
4. Concealing important segments of the attempt
5. Misrepresenting identity or qualifications
6. Submitting plagiarized or fabricated achievements
Violations may lead to:
1. Immediate disqualification
2. Permanent blacklisting
3. Legal action if applicable
Typically requires 4–8 weeks, depending on:
1. Category complexity
2. Evidence quality
3. Submission volume
Available for select categories with additional charges.
Processing time may be reduced significantly.
After verification, results fall under one of the following:
The record meets all criteria and is officially recognized.
The submission does not meet the standards or evidence is insufficient.
We may request extra documents, clearer footage, or further explanation.
If the attempt shows promise but does not satisfy full criteria, we may advise a retry under proper guidelines.
All decisions are final unless new evidence is submitted for review.
All information submitted during verification:
1. Is securely stored
2. Used only for evaluation purposes
3. Published only after approval and with proper consent
Sensitive personal data is never released without authorization.
Each verified attempt is compared against:
1. Existing national and international benchmarks
2. Historical data held by Indian Book of Records
3. Standardized measurement criteria
If an attempt surpasses the current record or meets a newly defined benchmark, it may be recognized as a new record.
A participant may request withdrawal of a submission before verification is completed. Once a record is approved and published, it cannot be withdrawn except under extraordinary circumstances (e.g., proven fraud, legal requirements).
If you believe your submission was incorrectly evaluated, you may file a written appeal within 30 days of receiving the decision.
Your appeal must include:
1. Reason for review
2. Additional or corrected evidence
3. Clarifications regarding the original submission
Appeals are reviewed fairly, but decisions remain at the discretion of our verification team
