Known as “Arunji,” from Wardha district, Maharashtra, Arun Deshpande has devoted his life since 1992 to preserving Gandhian ideals through the art of hand-spinning khadi. Having left his government teaching career, he promotes moral education across Maharashtra, teaches spinning in schools and courtrooms, and continues to learn chalkas at Nagpur University embodying Gandhi’s vision in daily life.
