Bhai Vir Singh was born on December 5, 1872, in Lahore, Punjab (now in Pakistan). He is considered the father of modern Punjabi literature and played a crucial role in the Sikh literary and cultural renaissance during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. A prolific writer, poet, and scholar, Bhai Vir Singh’s works deeply explored Sikh history, spirituality, and Punjabi culture, helping preserve and revitalize Sikh heritage.

His literary contributions include poetry collections, historical novels, and religious texts, with notable works like “Rana Surat Singh,” “Sundari,” and “Sundari” that remain widely read and respected.
