Dipa Karmakar, born 9 August 1993 in Agartala, Tripura, is a landmark figure in Indian gymnastics, known for being one of the few women globally to perform the Produnova vault. She made history as the first Indian female gymnast to reach an Olympic final when she finished fourth in vault at the 2016 Rio Olympics. Among her other achievements are winning the bronze medal in vault at the 2014 Commonwealth Games and gold in the vault at the 2024 Asian Championships-the first gold ever by an Indian at that event.
