Dr. Vikram Ambalal Sarabhai was born on August 12, 1919, in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, into a distinguished industrialist family. He was a pioneering physicist and one of the most influential architects of modern India’s scientific and technological advancement. Sarabhai is best known as the founder of ISRO (Indian Space Research Organisation). He firmly believed that space technology could help solve real-life problems in education, communication, and development. Under his leadership, India launched its first satellite, Aryabhata, and laid the groundwork for India’s space missions.
