Jyoti Dhawale is an Indian HIV activist born in 1976 in Namkum (Ranchi), Jharkhand. She lost most of her hearing due to an accident in childhood and depends on lip reading and text/video communication. After contracting HIV in 2005 due to medical negligence, she became a powerful voice for people living with HIV/AIDS, focusing on reducing stigma, advocating for human rights, especially for marginalized and affected women, and speaking out for sexual & reproductive health. She also works with LGBT communities, has been a motivational speaker, and has received recognitions like the Karmaveer Chakra Award.
