Lakshmamma is a dedicated and humble teacher from a remote tribal village in Telangana. For over 30 years, she has been the sole educator for children in an area lacking proper school infrastructure, electricity, and basic facilities. Despite these hardships, Lakshmamma walks several kilometers daily, often through rough terrain and adverse weather, to reach her students.
With no formal classroom or teaching aids, she conducts lessons under a tree using handmade charts and creative methods. Many of her students are first-generation learners from marginalized tribal families. Beyond academics, she also supports their emotional well-being and health awareness, sometimes even providing meals from her own resources. Thanks to her unwavering commitment, hundreds of children have gained basic education and gone on to pursue higher studies or meaningful careers. Lakshmamma’s selfless service stands as a powerful example of how one individual’s passion and perseverance can transform an entire community, proving that true change often begins quietly at the grassroots level.
