Libia "Libby" Lobo Sardesai was a pioneering freedom fighter and lawyer from Porvorim, Goa. During the Portuguese rule, she co-founded the clandestine radio station Voice of Freedom, which broadcast revolutionary messages from the jungle to inspire the Goan populace (1955–1961). After liberation, she became Goa’s first Director of Tourism, launched the Women’s Cooperative Bank, and founded the Goa College of Home Sciences. In 2025, she was honored with the Padma Shri for her remarkable service.
