Malaika Vaz, born in Saligao, Goa, is a National Geographic Explorer, wildlife filmmaker, and environmental activist. She’s the youngest Indian to trek both the Arctic and Antarctic, and starred in On the Brink, a Discovery Channel documentary on endangered species. She’s also working on a documentary about manta ray trafficking. Through her nonprofit Kriya, she empowers women and disadvantaged youth using adventure and outdoor education. Vaz has been honored with the National Youth Award, and recognized as a Young Environmentalist and ROAR Talent by National Geographic.
