Marina Lalramnghaki Hmar

YOUTH SPOTLIGHT

Marina Lalramnghaki Hmar, born 12 June 2001 in Kawnpui, Kolasib district in Mizoram, is a promising young Indian women’s field hockey midfielder. She began playing hockey around age 10, earning a place in the SAI Women’s Hockey Academy in Thenzawl, Mizoram. In 2024 she was selected for the 33-member core group of the Indian Women’s Hockey Team after standout performances in trials and at the 14th Hockey India Senior Women National Championship, where she scored three goals. She has represented India at junior levels, such as in the 2019 U-21 3 Nations Invitational and the FIH Women’s Junior World Cup 2021. Her goals include securing a place in the national 18-member squad and competing in major upcoming tournaments like the 2026 Women’s World Cup and the 2028 Olympics.
