Rajesh Rajak, a young man from Kenduya village in Hazaribagh, Jharkhand, turned immense personal hardship into a story of determination and success. After losing his father in 2017, Rajesh's family faced severe financial difficulties. His mother began working as a school cook, while Rajesh supported himself by teaching at a private school for just ₹6,000 a month. Driven by a desire to change his family's circumstances, he moved to Ranchi during the COVID-19 lockdown, where he juggled food delivery work and civil services preparation.
Despite long hours spent delivering orders, Rajesh studied late into the night, often inspired by fellow aspirants at his lodge. He cleared the JPSC prelims in his first attempt but missed out in the mains. Undeterred, he tried again-and in the 2023 JPSC results, secured Rank 271, earning a position as a Superintendent in the Jharkhand Jail Service. His achievement is a powerful reminder that economic hardship is not a barrier to success when met with resilience, sacrifice, and relentless effort.
