Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ is a prominent politician and educationist from Uttarakhand, known for his extensive contributions to both state and national politics. Born in 1959 in Pinani village of Chamoli district, he has served multiple terms as the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand and held several important portfolios in the Indian government. Pokhriyal is especially recognized for his tenure as India’s Union Minister of Education, where he played a key role in implementing the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, a landmark reform aimed at overhauling and modernizing the country’s education system.
