Shaheed Bhagat Singh

Punjab’s Hall Of Fame

Icon of Indian Freedom Struggle | Revolutionary Thinker | Martyr at 23
Shaheed Bhagat Singh was born on September 28, 1907, in a patriotic Sikh family in Lyallpur (present-day Pakistan). From a young age, he was influenced by the freedom movement, especially after the brutal Jallianwala Bagh massacre in 1919. Rejecting the path of non-violence after witnessing British brutality, he joined the Hindustan Socialist Republican Association (HSRA), believing that armed revolution was necessary to overthrow colonial rule and establish a society based on equality and justice.
