The Andhra Pradesh cabinet approved a universal health policy aimed at offering free and quality treatment to nearly five crore people. Under this scheme, insurance companies will cover up to ₹2.5 lakh, while the NTR Vaidya Seva Trust will cover higher levels of treatment. The plan also includes the establishment of 10 new medical colleges under PPP mode.
Beginning from the 2025 26 academic session, Andhra Pradesh is launching a comprehensive education reform called LEAP. This includes more skill based, technology driven and outcome based education; AI driven remedial assessment; improved infrastructure in primary/pre primary schools; and model anganwadi/early childhood centres in every assembly constituency.
AP government unveiled its Aerospace and Defence Policy for 2025 2030, with targets of ~₹1 lakh crore investment and creation of 1 lakh jobs over five years. Specialized clusters are planned in multiple areas (Visakhapatnam, Tirupati etc.). Incentives include investment subsidies, SGST reimbursements, and support for startups in these sectors.
The state cabinet approved the Andhra Pradesh Circular Economy and Waste Recycling Policy under its Swarna Andhra 2047 vision. This policy is designed to turn waste into wealth, encourages MSMEs for recycling & waste management, establishes industrial symbiosis, and includes infrastructure models and dashboards for monitoring.
The Andhra Pradesh government’s budget for 2025 26 included significant welfare measures: ₹20,000 annual aid for farmers (Annadata Sukhibhava), financial support for students via “Talliki Vandanam” scheme, higher relief for fishermen during fishing ban, and substantial allocation for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Classes, and minorities.
The government launched the Innovation and Startup Policy (4.0) for 2024 29, to encourage entrepreneurship, promote technology innovation in areas like AI, blockchain, health tech, EVs etc., establish more centres of excellence and incubators, and create tens of thousands of jobs in the startup ecosystem.
