Dhananjay Kumar from Ranchi, Jharkhand, set a remarkable record by creating the largest Sohrai painting on the exterior wall of a building. Measuring 69 × 44 feet and painted at a height of 110 feet on the New Jharkhand Bhawan in New Delhi in 2024, the artwork showcased the rich tribal tradition of Sohrai painting, which is traditionally done on walls during harvest festivals. Kumar’s achievement not only celebrated Jharkhand’s cultural heritage on a grand scale but also brought widespread recognition to the intricate and vibrant art form, inspiring artists and audiences across the country.
