Guntur International Poetry Festival

The Guntur International Poetry Festival (GIPF) is a renowned annual literary event held in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, celebrating poetry with a focus on peace, non-violence, and human values. The 12th edition of the festival, held on September 20–21, 2019, at Jagarlamudi Kuppuswamy Chowdary College, attracted around 300 poets from across India and several countries including the United Kingdom, United States, Poland, Bhutan, the Maldives, and the Philippines. The event featured multilingual poetry recitations, often conducted by candlelight to symbolize peace and solidarity. In 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the festival transitioned to a virtual format and saw the participation of over 200 poets from around the world, continuing its mission of promoting literary expression beyond borders.
