On 12 March 2010, during the Chapchar Kut festival in Aizawl, Mizoram orchestrated a record-setting largest and longest Cheraw (bamboo) dance, featuring a remarkable 10,736 performers arranged in 671 groups. The dancers executed the performance for eight to ten minutes along a 3-kilometer stretch of road adjoining the Assam Rifles Ground (which held approximately 2,518 performers), under the observation of Guinness adjudicator Lucia Sinigaliesi, who later presented the official record certificate—witnessed by a crowd of around 12,000 spectators.
