Largest Choir Singing in Mizo Language

The largest choir singing in the Mizo language was showcased during the Mizoram Statehood Day celebrations in Aizawl on 20 February 2012, when more than 2,000 singers, drawn from church groups, schools, and community choirs across the city, gathered on a single stage to perform traditional Mizo hymns and patriotic songs. Accompanied by indigenous instruments and modern orchestration, the mass choir filled the air with powerful harmonies, in front of a crowd of nearly 15,000 spectators at the Assam Rifles Ground. The event not only celebrated Mizoram’s cultural unity but also set a milestone for the largest synchronized vocal performance in the Mizo language, reflecting the strong communal spirit of music in the state.
