← Largest Group Performance of Manipuri Dance

In 2015, Manipur made a remarkable attempt to set a Guinness World Record for the largest group performance of Manipuri dance. On September 27, nearly 30,000 dancers gathered at the Palace Compound in Imphal East to perform a synchronized Manipuri dance, choreographed to the patriotic song "Sana Leibak Manipur Koloi Nangi Manipur" by the late lyricist B. Jayantakumar Sharma. Although official recognition by Guinness World Records is not confirmed, the event showcased the state’s rich cultural heritage and demonstrated the dedication and unity of the Manipuri community in celebrating their classical dance on a grand scale.
