The largest Margam Kali performance took place on November 11, 2023, at the Carmel School stadium in Chalakudy, Kerala, where 1,506 mothers danced around a lit nilavilakku (traditional lamp) in a synchronized display of this traditional Christian folk dance. This monumental event was organized to promote cultural heritage and unity, and it successfully set a world record for the largest gathering of Margam Kali performers.
