The Largest Pattachitra Painting was created in Raghurajpur, Odisha, on 15 November 2017, by a team of 25 traditional Pattachitra artists, who worked together to produce a massive 55 ft x 20 ft mural within 15 hours. Organized as part of a cultural promotion initiative by Odisha Handicrafts Development Council, the artwork depicted the Jagannath temple traditions, mythological stories, and folk motifs, staying true to the intricate style of Pattachitra. The event was witnessed by around 800 visitors, including tourists and art enthusiasts, and set a record as the largest hand-painted Pattachitra ever created in Odisha, showcasing the village’s identity as a heritage crafts hub.
