The Largest Traditional Stick Dance was performed on April 6, 2017, in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, where 2,315 participants came together to perform a synchronized stick dance, setting a Guinness World Record. This mass performance was organized as part of a cultural celebration by the Andhra Pradesh Department of Language and Culture, aiming to highlight and preserve traditional Indian folk art forms. The dance showcased a popular South Indian folk style involving rhythmic beating of sticks, often referred to as "Kolattam" in Andhra Pradesh. Participants, mostly youth and students, performed in coordinated patterns using decorated sticks, celebrating the vibrancy of local traditions.
