The Largest Writing Competition in India was held in 2012 by the Dainik Bhaskar Group (DB Corp Ltd) across 12 states, including Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Odisha, Bihar, Jharkhand, Gujarat, and Maharashtra. The competition took place from February 1 to July 4, 2012 and attracted 300,874 participants. Each writing session at different locations lasted several hours, totaling approximately 5 months of continuous activities across the states. This massive event earned a place in the Guinness World Records for the largest writing competition in India.
