The Longest Bathukamma Dance Celebration took place in 2016 across Telangana, where thousands of women gathered daily during the nine-day Bathukamma festival to perform traditional circle dances around beautifully decorated floral arrangements. Recognized as a symbol of Telangana’s cultural identity, the celebrations involved continuous folk dance and singing, especially in Hyderabad, Warangal, and Karimnagar, with participation from over 3 lakh women. This large-scale celebration not only set a record for the longest Bathukamma dance but also showcased the deep-rooted unity and devotion of Telangana women, attracting lakhs of spectators and visitors from around the world.
