Longest Continuous Dance Marathon

On July 21–28, 2025, Remona Evette Pereira, a BA student from St Aloysius College in Mangaluru, Karnataka, performed a 170-hour continuous Bharatanatyam dance marathon, setting a new record recognized by the Golden Book of World Records. Conducted on the college campus over seven days, the event drew a cumulative crowd of over 5,000 spectators, including students, faculty, local art enthusiasts, and cultural dignitaries. The performance followed strict guidelines, allowing 15-minute breaks every three hours, and surpassed the previous world record of 127 hours, making it the longest continuous solo dance performance ever recorded.
