← Longest Folk Music Marathon-Siddipet

The Longest Folk Music Marathon was organized in Siddipet, Telangana, in 2019, where a collective of local folk artists and musicians performed continuously for 36 hours showcasing Telangana’s traditional instruments such as the dappu, gangu, kolatam, and teenmar rhythms. The event brought together over 300 folk performers from across the districts, drawing an audience of nearly 20,000 people over the two-day celebration. This marathon not only set a cultural record for Telangana but also highlighted the state’s vibrant folk traditions, ensuring their preservation for future generations.
