Longest Non-stop Dhol (Drum) Playing

The record for the longest non-stop dhol (drum) playing was set by Sachin Dhol, a group of drummers from Pune, who played the dhol continuously for 48 hours. The record-breaking event took place from March 24 to March 26, 2017, at the MCA Ground in Pune. The performance was part of a cultural initiative to celebrate Maharashtra’s traditional music and raise awareness for a charitable cause. Thousands of spectators gathered to witness the historic event, which featured non-stop drumming, blending folk rhythms and modern beats, creating an electrifying atmosphere. The marathon not only broke the record but also highlighted the importance of preserving Maharashtra's folk music traditions.
