In 2015, Mrityunjay Sharma, a third-year B.Com student at Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) in New Delhi, set a Guinness World Record for the longest piano recital by an individual, playing continuously for 130 hours. This remarkable feat surpassed the previous record of 103 hours held by Polish pianist Romuald Koperski. Sharma's performance, which began on October 11, 2015, was conducted on a synthesizer and was meticulously documented with independent observers ensuring adherence to Guinness World Records guidelines. The event aimed to promote the mental development of autistic children through music and garnered widespread attention for its dedication and endurance.
