← Longest Thirukkural-Based Bharatanatyam Marathon

The Longest Thirukkural-Based Bharatanatyam Marathon was organized by the Mayuri Academy of Performing Arts in Chennai, where 15 dancers performed continuously for 30 hours from 10:45 am on 1 January to 5:05 pm on 2 January 2017. Each performance was choreographed around the classic Tamil couplets from the Thirukkural, integrating profound moral and philosophical teachings with expressive Bharatanatyam interpretations. This unique cultural event was officially recognized by the Asia Book of Records, celebrating both Tamil literature and classical dance in a singular artistic marathon.
