Mass Singing Marathon Annamacharya’s Keerthanas

The Mass Singing Marathon of Annamacharya’s Keerthanas was a record-setting cultural event held on May 10, 2009, at Parade Grounds in Secunderabad (then part of united Andhra Pradesh). During this event, approximately 160,000 singers gathered to sing devotional compositions known as Saptagiri Keerthanas, written by the 15th-century saint poet Sri Tallapaka Annamacharya, who is revered for his lyrical praise of Lord Venkateswara. Organized by the Silicon Andhra Cultural Organization in collaboration with TTD (Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams), the event aimed to promote the rich tradition of Telugu devotional music and spiritual heritage. It was not only a devotional gathering but also a cultural milestone that entered the Guinness World Records as the largest group singing event in the world at that time.
