The NHPC State Level Painting Competition – 2022 was organized by the NHPC Regional Office, Jammu on November 14, 2022, at its premises in Narwal, Jammu. This event was part of a national campaign to promote energy conservation awareness among schoolchildren, under the directives of the Bureau of Energy Efficiency, Ministry of Power, Government of India. The competition was held for two groups: Group A (Classes V–VII) and Group B (Classes VIII–X). A total of 100 students 50 from each group were selected to participate in the State/UT level competition, having been shortlisted from various schools across Jammu and Kashmir. The event saw 26 students receiving awards, including first, second, third, and 10 consolation prizes in each group. Notably, Raghav Toor (Class 9A) from J&K Police Public School won the first prize in Group B and was selected for the National Level Painting Competition. In Group A, Keshav Padha (Class 7) secured the first prize. The competition aimed to engage students creatively in spreading the message of energy conservation.
