The city of Rajkot, Gujarat, set a remarkable milestone on 28 January 2020 by entering the Guinness World Records for the largest number of people performing the traditional Talwar Raas (sword dance) simultaneously. A total of 2,126 dancers, dressed in traditional attire and holding swords, showcased the age-old martial dance form with perfect coordination. This grand performance not only celebrated Gujarat’s cultural heritage but also highlighted Rajkot’s reputation as a hub for traditional folk dances.
