Solung Festival (Adi Tribe)

The Solung Festival is the most significant socio-religious event for the Adi community in Arunachal Pradesh, celebrated annually in the first week of September. This five-day harvest festival marks the completion of sowing and transplantation of crops, serving as a time for the Adi people to offer prayers for a bountiful harvest, the prosperity of their livestock, and protection from natural calamities. The festival is celebrated across various Adi villages, including Pasighat, the cultural heart of the East Siang district, which becomes a vibrant hub of festivities during this time, drawing visitors eager to experience the rich traditions of the Adi people.
