The State-Level Energy Conservation Painting Competition was held on 12 November 2013 at Chintan Bhawan, Gangtok, and brought together a large number of school students from across Sikkim to promote awareness on energy efficiency through art. The event stood out as one of the largest painting contests in the state, where children expressed ideas of conservation and sustainability on canvas. A historic highlight was achieved when Sonam Palzor Bhutia, a Class VI student from Sherab Odsal Raldeling Academy in West Sikkim, won First Prize at the National Level, marking Sikkim’s best painting competition achievement to date and earning the state national recognition in the field of creative arts.
