The Uttarakhand Mahotsav 2024, a grand 10-day festival held on the banks of the Gomti in Lucknow, was inaugurated in early November by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The opening ceremony featured a spectacular Jhora folk dance performed by 500 women artists organized into 24 teams, brilliantly showcasing Uttarakhand’s cultural pride. The celebration also included emotive Chholiya dance, musical performances by Aaroh Verma and Suneeta Latwal, and an expansive artisan showcase with 150 handicraft stalls displaying items like shawls, spices, dry fruits, and traditional décor. The festival was a centerpiece for both cultural preservation and community enthusiasm.
