The World Wetlands Day Painting Contest was organised on 2 February 2025 at the College of Horticulture, Bermiok, South Sikkim, as part of the global observance of World Wetlands Day. The competition brought together school and college students from the region, who illustrated themes of wetland conservation, biodiversity, and sustainable living through their artwork. Serving as one of the most significant environment-focused art events in Sikkim, the contest not only highlighted the role of wetlands in maintaining ecological balance but also provided young artists a platform to spread awareness on environmental protection through creative expression.
