Music World, once India’s largest music retail chain and part of the RPG Group, was known for offering an extensive selection of music and movies across international, Bollywood, and regional genres. It began operations in 1997 with its first store in Chennai, followed by expansion to cities like Cochin, eventually establishing a presence in over 45 cities.
At its peak, Music World operated 79 outlets and held a 20–25% market share in key regions, including metros and smaller towns like Vidisha and Sehore. However, with the shift to digital streaming platforms, the brand has scaled down its physical presence, focusing more on adapting to the evolving entertainment landscape.
