Kanyakumari, also known as Cape Comorin, is the southernmost point of the Indian mainland and is located in the state of Tamil Nadu. Geographically significant, it marks the confluence of three major water bodies, the Arabian Sea, the Bay of Bengal, and the Indian Ocean. The spot is renowned for its picturesque sunrises and sunsets, especially during the equinox.
Kanyakumari holds cultural and spiritual importance, having been visited by Swami Vivekananda in December 1892 for meditation and enlightenment. In his honor, the Vivekananda Rock Memorial stands as a major tourist attraction. Mahatma Gandhi also visited the site in 1925 and 1937, adding historical value to this coastal town.
