India’s first computerized album

Alisha Chinai, widely regarded as one of the pioneers of Indian pop music, made a groundbreaking entry into the music scene with her 1988 album Baby Doll, released by HMV. This was India’s first computerized album, with sound engineering handled by her then-husband, Rajesh Johri. Known for her bold style and innovative sound, Alisha earned the nickname "Indian Madonna" for redefining the music landscape in the country. Her iconic album Made in India later became a cultural phenomenon and one of the highest-selling Hindi pop albums in Indian music history.

In addition to her successful pop career, Alisha Chinai has made a lasting impact as a playback singer in Bollywood. Her distinctive voice has featured in numerous hit songs such as "Kaate Nahin Kat Te", "It’s Rocking", "Aaj Ki Raat", and "Ticket to Hollywood". Her performance of "Kajra Re" earned her the prestigious Filmfare Award for Best Female Playback Singer. Alisha's contributions to both pop and film music have solidified her legacy as a trailblazer in the Indian music industry.
