Aanchal Thakur is an Indian alpine skier from Manali, Himachal Pradesh. She became widely recognized in January 2018 when she won India’s first-ever international medal in skiing, a bronze in the slalom race at the Alpine Ejder 3200 Cup organized by the International Ski Federation (FIS) in Erzurum, Turkey.
She hails from a family deeply involved in skiing, her father, Roshan Thakur, has been associated with the Winter Games Federation of India (WGFI). Aanchal has also represented India in multiple FIS Alpine Ski World Championships. Her achievements have brought attention to winter sports in India, a field that often struggles with infrastructure and recognition.
