Aditya Pratap Singh Chauhan, a student from Raipur, Chhattisgarh, is a remarkable young mind who has already made a national impact through his innovation in clean water technology. At just 11 years old, he received the prestigious Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar (2023), India’s highest civilian honor for children, for science and innovation.
His award-winning creation, named “Microma”, is a portable device designed to detect and filter bacteria and micro-particles from contaminated water. This simple yet powerful tool aims to make safe drinking water accessible in rural and remote areas, especially where waterborne diseases are common.
