Himmat Ram Bhambhu

UNSUNG HEROES

Himmat Ram Bhambhu, born on February 14, 1956, in Sukwasi village, Nagaur district, Rajasthan, is a renowned environmentalist and wildlife conservationist. Inspired by his grandmother's dedication to planting trees, Bhambhu embarked on a mission to combat environmental degradation in the arid regions of Rajasthan.

In 1999, Bhambhu purchased 6 hectares of land in Harima village and developed a mini forest with 11,000 trees, creating a sanctuary for wildlife. He actively engages in wildlife protection, having filed 28 cases against poachers and rehabilitated over 2,500 injured animals. Bhambhu's philosophy aligns with the teachings of Guru Jambheshwar, who advocated for environmental conservation centuries ago. Bhambhu emphasizes the "7 J's",water (jal), forest (jungle), land (zameen), animals (jeev), organic farming (jaivik), climate (jalvayu), and population (jansankhya), as interconnected elements essential for ecological balance.
