Hiranya Barman

UNSUNG HEROES

Near the lush landscapes of Kaziranga National Park, where wildlife thrives but also faces threats from poaching, accidents, and habitat loss, Hiranya Barman has quietly dedicated over two decades to rescuing and rehabilitating injured and displaced animals.

From elephants and rhinos to smaller creatures, Hiranya’s compassionate efforts have saved countless lives. With no formal training but immense love and patience, he works closely with forest officials and volunteers, often risking his own safety to ensure animals receive timely medical care and a second chance in the wild. His work remains largely unsung, but for Assam’s rich biodiversity, Hiranya Barman is a true guardian, embodying the spirit of coexistence between humans and nature.
