Meera Bai

Rajasthan’s Hall Of Fame

Meera Bai (1498–1547) was a celebrated Rajput princess, poet, and devotee of Lord Krishna, known for her deep spiritual devotion and lyrical poetry. Born into the royal family of Merta in Rajasthan, she is remembered as one of the most prominent female saints and Bhakti movement figures in Indian history. Despite facing opposition from her family for her intense devotion, Meera Bai remained steadfast in her love and worship of Krishna, composing beautiful devotional songs and poems that express her longing and surrender to the divine.
