Rahul Vegesna, a 17-year-old tech prodigy from Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, is using innovation to make education more inclusive. Moved by the struggles of visually impaired students in accessing Telugu textbooks, he developed an AI-powered mobile app that converts printed material into audio using text-to-speech and image recognition technologies. His app has already been implemented in 10 special schools across the state, significantly enhancing learning for visually challenged students.Recognized with the Google India Youth AI Challenge award, Rahul stands out as one of the country’s top young innovators. Beyond app development, he mentors fellow students in AI and coding, promoting digital literacy and inclusive technology.
