Rajesh Dattabaruah is a dedicated environmental activist from Assam, recognized for his significant contributions to ecological conservation and community engagement. Since 2012, he has been actively involved in raising awareness about environmental issues, focusing on the harmful effects of carbon emissions and the pervasive use of single-use plastics. In 2023, Dattabaruah was honored with the prestigious Golok Samman for his outstanding work in environmental activism. This award, instituted by the UD Foundation in memory of the noted translator and social worker Golok Chandra Datta, recognizes individuals who have made significant cultural and social impacts in Assam.
