Raju Srivastav, born as Satya Prakash Srivastav on December 25, 1963, in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, was one of India’s most beloved comedians and entertainers. He gained nationwide fame through his performances on The Great Indian Laughter Challenge in the early 2000s, where his humorous take on everyday life and characters like “Gajodhar Bhaiya” made him a household name.
Coming from a middle-class background, Raju had a natural flair for mimicry and observational comedy. He appeared in several Bollywood films such as Maine Pyar Kiya, Baazigar, and Aamdani Atthanni Kharcha Rupaiya, but it was his stand-up career that brought him immense popularity. His clean and relatable humor appealed to audiences across generations.
In addition to entertainment, Raju Srivastav was also active in politics and social work, aligning with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and promoting cleanliness and civic awareness as part of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. He passed away on September 21, 2022, but his legacy lives on through the joy and laughter he brought to millions.
