The Uttar Pradesh government, via its Food Safety & Drug Administration (FSDA), launched a large-scale crackdown from Oct 8-17 to catch adulterated or unsafe food. Over 4,600 inspections, ~2,000 raids, nearly 2,900 samples were tested; large quantities of unsafe food were seized or destroyed.
UP State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) and local authorities in Prayagraj region are integrating private buses into government-run systems to improve rural connectivity. The revised policy also allows buses aged 3-4 years to join, to encourage more participation.
The UP Public Service Commission has completed the application modification process for 1,253 assistant professor positions in government degree colleges. These posts are across many subjects, and large numbers of candidates applied.
To increase exam security, the UP Secondary Education Board will install an AI-based surveillance (CCTV etc.) system in ~8,000 exam centres for the 2026 High School and Intermediate exams. Use of strong rooms, power backup, and central monitoring through command centres are part of the plan.
The Uttar Pradesh government reported that 4,000 new factories were set up in FY 2024-25, across electronics, textiles, food processing, defence manufacturing, automobiles, chemicals, renewable energy. This reflects industrial growth and job creation under the current administration.
The government decided to give a festive bonus (~₹7,000) to around 14.82 lakh state government employees ahead of Diwali, totalling over ₹1,000 crore. This decision aims to provide financial relief during the festive season.
UP govt has formed a Civil Defence Corps in all 75 districts under the Civil Defence Act, 1968. District Magistrates act as controllers. This is meant to strengthen disaster-management, community safety and readiness.
The UP cabinet approved a new Aerospace & Defence Unit and Employment Promotion Policy aiming to attract ~₹50,000 crore investment and generate 1 lakh jobs. It includes incentives, FDI reforms, subsidies, land deals, etc.
The Cabinet approved 19 proposals: procurement of wheat at MSP, establishment of new medical and nursing colleges, repurposing land for industrial and defence projects, and withdrawal of high-value physical stamp papers.
